Women 2 Piece Sweater Matching Lounge Sets

We knit this two-piece set in a horizontal blue stripe. The top features a high mock neck and a cut that hangs away from the torso, while the matching bottoms carry the same yarn weight. Both pieces share the same dye lot so the stripes align across the pair.

What we would tell you in the studio

  • High neck construction. The mock neck stands upright without pressing tight against the throat. We knitted the collar in a fine rib that keeps its shape across hours of wear instead of folding or rolling down.
  • Relaxed body drape. The top falls loose from the shoulder down to the hip line. Because the knit sits away from the frame, air moves through easily and the fabric clears base layers without catching or bunching.
  • Matching bottom gauge. We knit the trousers in the exact yarn gauge as the top. They feature a tapered leg opening that stays clear of shoes, keeping the lower hem neat whether you wear them indoors or out.
  • Care and drying. Hand wash both pieces together in cool water to keep the blue stripes crisp and clear. Press out excess moisture in a towel and dry flat so the knit does not stretch along the seams.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
  • Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

Skip

  • Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
  • Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
  • Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
