Women 2 Piece Sweater Matching Lounge Sets

A high mock neck anchors the top, which falls away from the torso into a clean hip-length hem. We pair it with matching knit bottoms worked in the same yarn. The contrast of white and black defines the set, giving both pieces a steady, balanced drape together or apart.

What we would tell you in the studio

  • High neck construction. The mock neckline stands up softly against the throat without pressing. It holds its upright shape through wear, framing the collar cleanly while the rest of the knit drops down into an easy, open fit.
  • Roomy body cut. We shaped the top with plenty of ease through the chest and waist. The fabric hangs straight down from the shoulders, clearing the midsection and landing near the hips rather than clinging to the skin.
  • Yarn hand and weight. The cotton and acrylic blend brings a smooth, dense surface that resists stiffness. It has enough substance to keep the trousers hanging straight, but remains light enough for relaxed indoor wear.
  • Laundering and care. Hand wash both pieces together in cool water to keep the two-tone yarn bright. Press out water gently with a towel and dry flat on a mesh rack to avoid pulling the stitches out of shape.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
  • Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

Skip

  • Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
  • Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
  • Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
