Womens 2 Piece Summer Short Sets

We knit this two-piece set as a matching pair from the same lightweight yarn lot in dark khaki. The top uses a classic henley neck with cap sleeves, while the bottoms finish with an adjustable drawstring waist and side pockets. It hangs loose and stays soft against bare skin on warm afternoons.

What we would tell you in the studio

  • Henley neckline and cap sleeves. The top opens at the front with a buttoned placket that sits flat against the collarbone. Short cap sleeves leave your arms bare and keep the shoulders light without extra bulk.
  • Drawstring waist and pockets. We built the shorts with an elasticated waistband and an adjustable cord so you can set where they sit. Deep side pockets are set right into the outer seam to hold small items.
  • Lightweight blended yarn. The fine gauge knit mixes rayon and polyester with a touch of spandex for recovery. It holds its shape after a full day of wear and bends easily without feeling stiff or heavy.
  • Drying flat to keep shape. Wash both pieces together in cool water using a gentle cycle to keep the dark khaki shade matched. Lay them flat on a towel to dry so the waistband and seams retain their line.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
  • Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

Skip

  • Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
  • Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
  • Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
