Womens 2 Piece Summer Short Sets

We knit both pieces together so the hot pink matches across the top and bottom. The cut stays roomy through the body, with long sleeves and a crew neck up top paired with a long hem below. It is a light, flexible knit that gives you room to move around the house or outside.

What we would tell you in the studio

  • Crew neck top. The top has a plain round crew neck that sits flat against the collarbone. Long sleeves finish with simple hems, and the body hangs straight down rather than pulling in at the waist.
  • Long hem shorts. We cut the bottoms to hang away from the legs, with the hem falling low toward the ankle. An adjustable drawstring sits at the waistband, and side pockets are set directly into the seams.
  • Hot pink dye. Knitting the top and bottom from the same yarn lot keeps the hot pink uniform across both pieces. The knit retains its clean surface and bright tone through regular wear and gentle washing.
  • Laundering and care. Wash this knit on a gentle cycle in cold water with mild detergent. Lay both pieces flat on a towel to air dry so the long hems and sleeves keep their shape over time.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
  • Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

Skip

  • Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
  • Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
  • Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
