Womens 2 Piece Summer Short Sets

We knit this two-piece set in sage green as a coordinated pair from the same yarn batch. The top has long sleeves with a classic round crew neck, while the matching shorts feature side pockets and an adjustable drawstring waist. Both pieces share an easy drape that hangs away from the skin.

What we would tell you in the studio

  • Top cut and neckline. The top is built with a simple crew neckline and full-length sleeves. It has a generous, loose body that falls straight down without pulling, giving you room through the shoulders and torso.
  • Knitted shorts construction. The shorts feature a flat drawcord at the waist so you can adjust the tension directly. Deep side pockets are knitted straight into the side seams to keep the outer line clean.
  • Sage green yarn hand. We chose a soft sage green tone for this lightweight knit blend. The fabric contains added stretch to keep its shape through a full day of wear and movement.
  • Care and washing. Hand wash the set in cold water or run it on a gentle machine cycle inside a mesh bag. Reshape the pieces while damp and lay them flat to dry to protect the knit structure.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
  • Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

Skip

  • Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
  • Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
  • Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
