What we would tell you in the studio
- Close bodycon fit. The fine gauge knit relies on built-in stretch to hug the frame from chest to hem. It holds its recovery through hours of wear without bagging out at the seat.
- Minimal round neckline. A plain rounded neck balances the narrow shoulder straps. We bound the edges cleanly so they lie flat against bare skin without digging in or rolling.
- Short straight hem. The cut finishes high on the leg with a neat turned hem. It moves easily and pairs naturally with flat sandals or low-heeled mules.
- Launder in a bag. Wash this fine knit in cool water inside a mesh laundry bag to protect the straps from snagging. Reshape the dress while damp and lay it flat on a drying rack.
Living with this one
Do
- Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
- Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
- Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
- Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

- Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
- The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
- Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
