What we would tell you in the studio

  • Round crew neckline. The neck is finished with a clean, low-profile band that rests flat against the collarbone without pulling or gaping. It maintains its shape across repeated wear.
  • Close knit structure. We used a tight, smooth knit with strong elastane recovery. The fabric hugs the torso and hips directly, stretching with movement and snapping back without bagging at the seat.
  • Short hemline. The hem is finished neatly and cut to land high on the thigh. Because the knit sits close through the hip, the skirt stays in place while you walk.
  • Washing and care. Machine wash on a cold cycle inside a mesh laundry bag with like colors. Lay the piece flat on a towel to air dry, preserving the yarn elasticity.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
  • Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

  • Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
