What we would tell you in the studio
- Paperbag waistband. The waist gathers above a stretchy elastic back panel. A matching fabric belt threads through the loops so you can tie it or wear the trousers without.
- Front pleat structure. Double pleats press flat at the front waist and open into a wide leg. The fabric holds its shape through the leg without bunching at the knee.
- Side entry pockets. Two slanted pockets sit inset along the side seams. They rest flat against the hip and carry small daily items without pulling the trouser out of line.
- Washing and care. Machine wash cold inside a mesh laundry bag. Lay the trousers flat to dry or run on tumble dry low, avoiding bleach to keep the brown yarn rich.

- Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
- Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
- Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
