What we would tell you in the studio

  • Paperbag waist construction. The high paperbag waistband features an elasticized back section and a removable fabric belt. It sits flat across the front while keeping comfortable give through the middle.
  • Front pleats and pocket detail. Two deep pleats release down each leg to guide the wide cut of the fabric. Inset side pockets sit along the seam line for everyday use.
  • Mocha brown drape. We dyed this yarn in a warm mocha brown that holds its depth across the plain knit surface. The fabric resists creasing as you sit or walk throughout the day.
  • Washing and care. Wash cold on a gentle cycle inside a mesh laundry bag to protect the belt loops. Lay flat to dry or use low tumble heat to maintain the crisp leg shape.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.

  • Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
  • Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
  • Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
