What we would tell you in the studio
- Paperbag waist construction. The front gathers into a ruffled paperbag top with a removable fabric tie. Across the back, a wide elastic band keeps the waistband flush against the body while you move.
- Wide leg with front pleats. Double pleats at the high waist release into a wide leg profile. The cut stays loose through the thigh and calf, allowing the off-white fabric to drape freely to the hem.
- Side pockets and finish. Two functional side pockets are set directly into the side seams to keep the outer lines clean. The off-white shade is dyed solid across the fabric, waistband, and matching belt.
- Washing and fabric care. Machine wash cold inside a mesh laundry bag to protect the pleats and belt loops. Lay the trousers flat to dry or tumble dry on low heat, and avoid chlorine bleach.

- Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
- Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
- Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.

- Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
- The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
- Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
