Womens Bodycon Maxi Long Dresses

A long column dress knitted to sit close along the torso and down through the skirt. We use a double-layered fine knit here, which keeps the Neon Blue solid and adds substance to the hand. The round crew neckline sits flat at the base of the neck, and the hem falls toward the ankle.

What we would tell you in the studio

  • Double layer build. Two fine-knit layers work together to provide complete opacity without adding bulk. The fabric stretches across the body and recovers its line when you step out of it, staying smooth through the waist and skirt.
  • Neckline and sleeves. The round crewneck is finished with a clean edge that sits flush against the collarbone. Full-length sleeves follow the arm closely down to the wrist, making this piece easy to slide under heavy coats or knit cardigans.
  • Long column hem. The skirt runs straight down from the hips to land near the ankle. It holds close as you walk, moving with the stretch in the knit while keeping its clean vertical line throughout the day.
  • Laundering and care. Wash on a cold cycle inside a mesh laundry bag to protect the fine surface. Tumble dry on low heat, or lay it flat on a dry towel to preserve the stretch across the seams.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
  • Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

Skip

  • Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
  • Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
  • Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
