What we would tell you in the studio

  • Crew top construction. The top is cut straight through the body with long sleeves and a clean round neckline. It rests around the hip line without clinging or bunching, giving you room to layer a light tank underneath.
  • Wide leg trousers. Knitted from the same dye lot, the trousers drop straight from a high waist down to a wide, ungathered lower hem. An elastic waistband and an adjustable knit drawstring hold the top securely in place.
  • Yarn and drape. The knit uses a smooth rayon blend with added stretch that gives the fabric a fluid, heavy drape. It pulls back into shape after hours of sitting and keeps its deep coffee tone after washing.
  • Care and maintenance. Machine wash on a gentle cycle in cold water or dry clean. We suggest laying both pieces flat to dry on a towel so the weight of the wet yarn does not stretch the legs or sleeves out.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
  • Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

Skip

  • Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
  • Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
  • Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
