What we would tell you in the studio

  • Crew neck top. The top is knitted with a clean round crew neckline and long straight sleeves. The hem finishes at the hip, giving it enough length to sit loosely over the trouser waistband without bunching up.
  • Drawstring knit trouser. We gave the trousers a broad elastic waistband threaded with a flat knitted drawstring cord. The legs drop straight and wide from the hip, keeping the fabric away from the skin as you move.
  • Yarn and gauge. The knit uses a smooth, lightweight rayon blend yarn with added stretch for recovery. It holds a consistent pink dye across both pieces, feeling cool to the touch and resting with a clean, fluid drape.
  • Washing and care. Machine wash both pieces together on a gentle cycle in cold water to keep the pink shade uniform. Lay them flat on a towel to dry so the waistband and legs keep their original shape.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
  • Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

Skip

  • Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
  • Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
  • Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
