2 Piece Lounge Sets for Women

We knit this two-piece lounge set in deep wine red as a balanced pair. The top falls straight through the body with long sleeves and a classic crewneck, while the matching trousers cut wide through the leg. An elasticated waistband with an adjustable cord keeps the waist secure without pulling.

What we would tell you in the studio

  • Crewneck top cut. The top cut sits straight through the torso without clinging or billowing out. Long sleeves finish cleanly at the wrist, and the hem rests naturally at the hip for easy pairing over the trouser waistband.
  • Wide leg trouser. The trousers drop straight from the hips into a wide, relaxed leg opening. A wide elastic waistband holds its position, supported by a dyed matching drawstring cord that lets you adjust the tension as needed.
  • Matching dye lot. We knit both pieces together so the wine red shade matches across top and bottom. The smooth yarn surface has plenty of built-in stretch, letting the knit flex easily and settle back into shape.
  • Washing and care. Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle, or dry clean if you prefer. Lay both pieces flat on a towel to dry so the wide trouser legs and long sleeves keep their shape over time.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
  • Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

Skip

  • Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
  • Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
  • Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
