What we would tell you in the studio

  • Crewneck and straight top. The long-sleeve top is cut with a standard round neckline and a hem that lands cleanly at the hip. It sits off the body without pooling extra fabric, making it easy to wear untucked or layered.
  • Wide leg trouser cut. Knitted with a high elastic waistband, the trousers use a soft drawstring to adjust the hold at the waist. The legs fall straight and wide toward the hem to keep the fabric moving freely as you walk.
  • Rose taupe yarn. We dye the yarn for the top and bottoms together to maintain an exact match across both pieces. The knit blends smooth rayon with stretch, producing a supple drape that resists sagging during long hours of wear.
  • Washing and shape care. Wash the set in cool water on a gentle cycle, or dry clean both pieces together to preserve the tone. Lay the top and trousers flat to dry so the wet knit does not stretch under its own weight.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
  • Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

Skip

  • Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
  • Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
  • Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
