What we would tell you in the studio
- Quarter zip collar. The high mock neck pulls up close when zipped or spreads into wide lapels when opened. A metal pull stays put where you set it.
- Dropped ribbed sleeve. The long sleeves begin low off the shoulder line. Fine horizontal ribs run down to the wrists, where dense cuff ribbing keeps the extra length gathered.
- Striped yarn gauge. We combined smooth synthetic yarns into a medium-weight rib knit that stretches easily across the body. The contrasting stripes are knitted directly into the fabric.
- Washing and care. Hand wash this knit in cool water or send it out for dry cleaning. Squeeze out excess moisture gently and lay it flat to dry.
Living with this one
Do
- Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
- Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
- Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
- Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

- Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
- The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
- Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
