We knit this pullover with a deep quarter zip set into a ribbed high collar. The body hangs straight and loose away from the torso, while dropped shoulders give the long sleeves extra room to move. It reaches past the waistband toward the hip, finished with contrasting stripe accents along the knit.

What we would tell you in the studio
- Quarter zip neck. The high collar zips all the way up as a mock neck or opens down into a wide spread collar. The metal pull sits flat against the ribbed placket.
- Ribbed knit body. We use a springy blend of viscose, polyester, and nylon worked in a continuous rib stitch. The knit has natural crosswise give and holds its shape after hours of wear.
- Dropped shoulder cut. Low armholes let the fabric fall loosely down the torso without pulling across the chest. The sleeves run long and gather slightly above the ribbed wrist cuffs.
- Care instructions. Hand wash this sweater in cool water or have it dry cleaned to keep the knit firm. Squeeze excess water out in a towel and dry flat instead of hanging.
Living with this one
Do
- Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
- Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
- Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
- Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

- Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
- The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
- Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
- Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
