We knit this pullover with a high ribbed collar and a quarter length front zipper. The body hangs straight and loose away from the torso, while dropped shoulders give the long sleeves extra room to move. It finishes at the hip in deep army green with contrast knit striping across the chest.

What we would tell you in the studio
- Quarter zip collar. The ribbed high collar zips all the way up against the neck or folds open flat across the shoulders. A sturdy metal pull stays put where you set it.
- Roomy straight body. We shaped the torso with an oversized cut that drops straight down to the hip. The side seams hang clear of base layers without bunching.
- Ribbed trim and striping. Contrast stripes run across the chest panel, set directly into the ribbed body knit. Matching fine rib bands secure the cuffs and bottom hem.
- Yarn and wash care. Hand wash this knit in cool water or dry clean it to protect the zipper teeth and shape. Press excess water out in a towel and dry flat.
Living with this one
Do
- Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
- Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
- Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
- Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.
Skip
- Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
- The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
- Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
- Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
