Off The Shoulder Tops Oversized Short Sleeve Tshirts

We knit this short sleeve top with a generous, loose body that falls clear of the waist. The crew neckline sits flat, balanced by a shortened hem that pairs cleanly with high-rise waistbands. The brown yarn has a smooth, soft hand that holds its drape through warm days.

What we would tell you in the studio

  • Roomy boxy cut. The body is cut wide and hangs away from the torso rather than hugging it. That extra width lets air move through the knit, keeping the fabric loose across the back and chest.
  • Cropped lower hem. We finished the hem higher on the waist so it meets high-rise knit trousers or skirts without bunching. It creates a square, balanced profile against wide-leg bottoms.
  • Soft yarn hand. The fine-gauge yarn feels smooth against bare skin without prickle or bulk. It has enough natural give to move comfortably without losing its shape by the end of the day.
  • Washing and care. Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle inside a mesh laundry bag to protect the fine stitch structure. Reshape the body while damp and lay it flat to dry out of direct sunlight.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
  • Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

Skip

  • Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
  • Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
  • Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
