Off The Shoulder Tops Oversized Short Sleeve Tshirts

We knit this top with a roomy, square profile that sits away from the torso. Short sleeves keep the shoulders light, while the round crew neckline stays flat against the collarbone. It finishes in a cropped hem that pairs naturally with our wide leg trousers and knit skirts. The Pdg colourway has a smooth, even surface.

What we would tell you in the studio

  • Roomy boxy cut. The body is cut wide and loose, dropping straight down from the shoulders without clinging. This geometry allows the fabric to move freely and hang in soft, clean folds throughout the day.
  • Crew neckline and sleeves. The classic round crew neck is bound neatly to hold its shape over repeated wear. Short, dropped sleeves provide modest upper arm coverage while keeping the underarm open and airy.
  • Cropped lower hem. We ended the hemline higher up the torso so it meets high-rise knit trousers without bunching. It creates a neat, horizontal break across the waistline.
  • Care and maintenance. Wash this knit inside out on a gentle cycle in cold water to preserve the smooth face of the yarn. Lay it flat on a dry towel to dry so the boxy shape stays true.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
  • Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

Skip

  • Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
  • Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
  • Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
