Off The Shoulder Tops Oversized Short Sleeve Tshirts

We knit this top with a roomy body that hangs away from the torso and finishes at a cropped hem. The neckline sits wide across the shoulders with short sleeves that drop naturally. In dark grey, the fabric has a soft, smooth hand against bare skin.

What we would tell you in the studio

  • Wide neckline cut. The neckline is cut wide to rest off the shoulders, exposing the collarbones without tight elastic. It stays in place while you move throughout the day.
  • Roomy cropped shape. The body is cut loose and hangs straight down to a short hem. That shorter length sits cleanly over high-waisted knit skirts and wide-leg trousers.
  • Smooth fine knit. We use a fine-gauge knit blend that feels light and cool on skin. The dark grey yarn has a flat, matte surface with a steady drape.
  • Care and shape. Wash on a gentle cycle in cold water with similar shades. Lay flat on a towel to dry so the wide neckline holds its original shape.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
  • Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

Skip

  • Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
  • Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
  • Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
