Off The Shoulder Tops Oversized Short Sleeve Tshirts

We knit this short-sleeve top in sky blue with an open, relaxed shape. The body hangs away from the torso, balanced by a neat crew neck and a shorter hemline. It pairs naturally with wide-leg trousers or knit bottoms that sit higher at the waist.

What we would tell you in the studio

  • Crew neckline. The neck is banded with a clean round crew that holds its shape through regular wash and wear. It rests flat against the collarbone without stretching out.
  • Cropped hemline. We ended the body at a shorter length to balance the wide, roomy cut through the chest. The open hem sits loosely over high-waisted knit skirts and trousers.
  • Short sleeve cut. Wide short sleeves drop off the shoulder to give arms plenty of room. The opening stays open and breezy on warm days without pinching under the underarm.
  • Washing and care. Wash on a gentle cycle in cold water with similar light tones. Lay the knit flat across a drying rack so the boxy cut keeps its shape.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
  • Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

Skip

  • Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
  • Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
  • Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
