What we would tell you in the studio

  • Mock neck top. A close half-high collar sits upright against the base of the neck without folding over. The body is cut straight through the torso, giving the knit room to hang naturally without clinging or bunching under outerwear.
  • Wide knit trouser. The bottoms are knitted with a wide, straight leg that falls cleanly to the shoe. We added inset side pockets that sit flat along the hip seam, paired with an elasticated waistband and matching drawcord.
  • Single dye lot. Knitting the top and bottom from the exact same chocolate brown yarn ensures the color matches under natural and indoor light. You can wear both pieces together or pair the pullover separately over denim.
  • Washing and drying. Machine wash cold inside a mesh laundry bag to protect the knit face from friction. Tumble dry on a low heat setting, or lay both pieces flat on a clean towel so the heavy wet yarn does not stretch.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.

  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
