What we would tell you in the studio

  • Mock neck top. The half-high collar sits upright along the base of the neck without folding down. It pairs with long sleeves and a straight lower hem that rests cleanly over the waistband.
  • Wide leg trousers. The trousers are knitted with a relaxed straight cut down through the hem. A drawcord waistband keeps the top secure, and set-in side pockets hold small items flat against the hip.
  • Matching khaki yarn. Knitting both pieces from the same dye lot keeps the khaki shade uniform from collar to cuff. The fabric has enough give to move freely while holding its shape across hours of wear.
  • Washing and care. Machine wash both pieces on cold inside a mesh laundry bag to protect the knit surface from snagging. Tumble dry on low heat or lay flat on a towel to preserve the shape.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
