What we would tell you in the studio

  • Half-high stand collar. The neckline rises into a soft mock collar that sits close without folding over. It holds its upright shape through a dense stitch gauge while leaving room to move your neck without friction.
  • Straight wide-leg trousers. The pants drop from an elasticated drawcord waist into a clean, wide leg that clears the floor. Deep side pockets sit flat against the hip line so they do not add bulk to the knit profile.
  • Heather grey yarn. We blend the grey fibres before spinning to produce a soft, textured heather effect across both pieces. The surface is smooth against bare skin and holds enough weight to fall without clinging.
  • Washing and care. Machine wash cold inside a mesh laundry bag to protect the fine gauge surface from snagging. Tumble dry on low heat or lay the pieces flat across a towel to maintain the length of the trousers.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.

  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
