Women Lounge Two 2 Piece Matching Set Fall

We knit both halves of this set from the same yarn batch so the muted sage green matches across top and bottom. The top is cut straight with a standing collar that sits close against the neck, while the trousers drop into a relaxed, wide leg. It wears as a uniform pair or broken apart with other knits.

What we would tell you in the studio

  • Mock neck top. The collar stands upright without folding over, providing steady coverage at the throat. The body runs straight to the hip, with long sleeves that rest easily over the wrists.
  • Drawcord waist trousers. We shaped the trousers with a wide, straight leg that falls cleanly from an adjustable drawstring waistband. Deep side pockets sit flat along the seams without adding bulk.
  • Matching sage yarn. Knitting both pieces together keeps the soft-brushed texture and pale green tone identical across the set. The yarn has enough weight to hang straight down without clinging.
  • Washing and care. Machine wash cold inside a mesh laundry bag on a gentle cycle. Tumble dry on low heat or lay both pieces flat on a towel so the trouser legs hold their shape.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
  • Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

Skip

  • Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
  • Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
  • Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
