What we would tell you in the studio
- Fuzzy yarn hand. The blend includes wool for warmth and acrylic for loft, resulting in a thick, brushed yarn with a soft pile. A first wash before wearing helps settle the fibres and softens the initial hand against bare skin.
- Cut and drape. The silhouette is wide and straight, hanging down without hugging the waist or hips. Because the knit carries substantial weight, the long body drops straight to a ribbed lower edge that stays put over trousers, leggings, or bare legs.
- Sleeve and rib trims. Long sleeves end in ribbed cuffs that hold the fabric at your wrists, preventing the wider arms from sliding over your hands. We use matching ribbing along the crew neckline so the collar keeps its round shape across days of wear.
- Washing and care. Hand wash in cold water or run a gentle machine cycle with mild detergent. Press the excess water out in a towel instead of wringing it, then lay the knit flat on a dry rack so the heavy stitches do not stretch out.

- Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
- The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
- Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
- Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
