What we would tell you in the studio
- Roomy longline cut. The body is cut wide and straight, hanging away from the torso down to a deep hem that lands around the lower calf. That length gives you heavy coverage under winter outerwear or over plain leggings.
- Crew neck and ribbed trim. A classic round crewneck sits flat against the collarbone with sturdy ribbing. We use matching rib knit at the cuffs and lower border so the long sleeves stay put at the wrists.
- Fuzzy wool-blend yarn. The yarn blends wool, acrylic, polyester, and polyamide into a thick, textured knit with visible loft. It traps warm air well across cold days and gains noticeable softness after its first wash.
- Washing and drying care. Hand wash this knit in cold water or run it through a gentle cycle. Reshape the body while damp and lay it flat on a drying rack so the weight of wet wool does not stretch the hem.
Living with this one
Do
- Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
- Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
- Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
- Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

- Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
- The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
- Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
- Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
