What we would tell you in the studio
- Crew neck and edges. The neckline sits as a close round collar with dense ribbing. Matching rib bands finish the long sleeves and the bottom hem to keep the edges flat through repeated wear.
- Roomy straight drape. The body is cut wide and falls straight down to a long lower edge. It leaves plenty of room underneath for a base layer or a collared shirt.
- Yarn hand and colour. We chose a light grey yarn with a soft, fuzzy pile that holds heat well on colder days. Washing the knit once before first use softens the hand.
- Washing and drying. Hand wash in cold water or run a gentle machine cycle with cool water. Lay the sweater flat on a towel to dry so the long body keeps its shape.
Living with this one
Do
- Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
- Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
- Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
- Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

- Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
- The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
- Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
- Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
