What we would tell you in the studio
- Roomy longline shape. The body is cut straight and wide so the fabric drops without clinging. Because the hem falls below the knee, the sweater carries its own weight and creates a long, steady line over trousers or bare legs.
- Fuzzy textured yarn. We spun this blend with wool for warmth and brushed the surface to bring out a soft, downy nap. The knit feels thick in hand and softens further after its initial wash.
- Ribbed neck and cuffs. A classic round crewneck is bound with sturdy ribbing that sits flat against the collarbone. Matching ribbed knit at the cuffs keeps the long sleeves gathered at the wrist.
- Cold wash care. Hand wash or machine wash on a cold, gentle cycle to preserve the fuzzy surface texture. Reshape the damp knit and lay it flat on a drying rack rather than hanging it.
Living with this one
Do
- Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
- Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
- Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
- Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

- Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
- The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
- Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
- Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
