What we would tell you in the studio
- Wide folded neckline. The collar folds over in a wide band that rests across the collarbones. You can wear it straight across both shoulders or pull it down along one arm for an asymmetric line.
- Loose batwing sleeves. The sleeves are cut wide at the underarm with a dropped seam, tapering down to a close-knit wrist. The extra room through the sleeve lets the knit fold softly when your arms hang down.
- Lower hip length. The hem hangs away from the waist and falls low around the hip. It provides enough length to wear over narrow trousers, thick leggings, or tucked loosely into a waistband.
- Washing and shape. Hand wash this knit in cold water with mild detergent to preserve the wine red dye. Press out the excess moisture in a towel and dry it flat so the open neckline keeps its shape.

Do
- Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
- Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
- Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
- Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

- Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
- The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
- Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
