What we would tell you in the studio
- Wide folded neckline. The neckline is knitted with a deep fold that holds its place along the collarbones. It stretches wide enough to sit off both shoulders or tilt to one side without bunching up around the neck.
- Batwing sleeve cut. The sleeves drop from a low, open armhole to keep the upper body loose and unstructured. Toward the wrist, the knit narrows down into a closer fit to keep the extra length in place.
- Loose body line. We shaped the torso straight and wide so the fabric drapes away from the body rather than pulling tight. The bottom hem rests around the hip, giving room to layer a tank or base tee underneath.
- Care for sage green. Hand wash this knit in cool water with a mild detergent and press the water out between clean towels. Lay it flat to dry so the wide neckline and knit loops retain their shape.
Living with this one
Do
- Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
- Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
- Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
- Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

- Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
- The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
- Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
- Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
