What we would tell you in the studio
- Wide fold neckline. The open neck band folds down and rests wide across the collarbone. You can pull it down over both shoulders or leave it skewed to one side.
- Roomy batwing sleeves. The sleeves are cut deep through the armhole and narrow down past the elbow. Ribbed cuffs hold the wrist so the fabric bunches naturally along the forearm.
- Low hip hem. The hem hangs straight and falls past the hips with plenty of room to spare. It pulls over denim, leggings, or a knit skirt without clinging.
- Yarn and wash care. Darkapricot is a warm, muted earth tone worked in a smooth midweight stitch. Wash it cold on a gentle cycle in a mesh bag, then lay it flat on a dry towel.
Living with this one
Do
- Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
- Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
- Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
- Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

- Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
- The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
- Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
- Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
