What we would tell you in the studio

  • Crew neck line. A tidy round crew sits close at the base of the neck. It frames a collared shirt or a simple tee beneath without bunching up, keeping the front line clean when worn open or buttoned.
  • Long hanging hem. The lower edge drops well below the knee, giving the light fabric room to move as you walk. It finishes with a clean border that holds its shape instead of curling inward.
  • Fine gauge yarn. We chose a smooth, lightweight blend yarn for this batch. It sits cool against bare arms, packs down small for travel, and adds a gentle layer over slip dresses or denim.
  • Wash and care. Machine wash on a gentle cycle in cold water and skip the bleach. Lay the cardigan flat on a towel to dry so the length does not stretch out on a hanger.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
  • Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
