What we would tell you in the studio

  • Crew neck line. A simple round crew neck keeps the top clean and stable. It lies flat against the collarbone, leaving room for collared shirts or higher base layers to show beneath.
  • Extended hem drop. The body runs long, reaching past the knee toward the ankle. Because the knit is light, the extra length falls in straight, easy folds rather than gathering into a stiff shape.
  • Long straight sleeve. We kept the sleeves straight along the arm down to the cuffs. The fine gauge fabric has enough give to slide over thin long-sleeve tops without bunching at the elbows.
  • Gentle machine care. Wash this piece on a cold, gentle cycle to protect the fine yarn. Lay it flat on a dry towel to dry so the long hem holds its shape without stretching out.

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
  • Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
  • Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
