What we would tell you in the studio
- Roomy open body. An open front and dropped shoulders give the torso plenty of ease. It hangs straight down without fastening, leaving room for shirts or light sweaters underneath.
- Cuff and hem ribbing. Wide ribbing along the cuffs and bottom border adds weight to the edges. This keeps the knit flat and stops the sleeves from riding up as you move.
- Deep front pockets. Two rectangular patch pockets sit square on the front panels. They are knit firmly into the body to carry a phone or small items without sagging out of shape.
- Gentle wash care. Hand wash in cool water or dry clean to protect the stitch definition. Lay the wet knit flat on a towel away from direct heat so the ribs keep their recovery.

Do
- Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
- Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
- Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
- Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

- Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
- The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
- Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
- Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
