What we would tell you in the studio
- Crew neck and buttons. A plain round neckband frames the collarbone without stretching out. Matching black buttons run the full length of the front placket, allowing you to wear the knit fastened shut or open over a light base layer.
- Torso and hemline. The body is cut wide and drops straight from the underarms. It hangs off the torso rather than clinging, finishing at the upper hip line with a neat, ungathered edge.
- Medium weight knit. We chose a smooth yarn that feels soft against bare skin. The knit provides moderate warmth for cool rooms without adding bulk when worn underneath a heavier coat.
- Care and maintenance. Wash by hand in cold water to keep the black yarn deep and the knit tight. Press water out gently in a towel and dry flat on a rack to protect the shoulder shape.

Do
- Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
- Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
- Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
- Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

- Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
- The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
- Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
- Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
