What we would tell you in the studio
- Crew neck and buttons. The plain round crew neckline sits flat at the base of the neck. Matched buttons run the full length of the front placket, so you can fasten the sweater shut or wear it open over light base layers.
- Roomy hip length cut. The body is cut wide and hangs away from the torso rather than pulling close. The lower hem finishes at the hip, giving clean coverage over waistbands without excess bulk when buttoned.
- Medium weight knit. We used a clean, smooth yarn knitted at a medium gauge that provides light warmth without heaviness. It layers neatly beneath heavier coats or works on its own indoors.
- Washing and flat drying. To keep the hot pink color bright and the knit in shape, hand wash the piece in cold water. Press out excess water with a towel and lay it flat to dry instead of hanging.

Do
- Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
- Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
- Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
- Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

- The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
- Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
