What we would tell you in the studio
- High folded collar. The neck is knit in a steady rib that turns down neatly against the throat. It keeps cold air out while leaving enough space around the collarbone for easy movement throughout the day.
- Roomy straight cut. We dropped the shoulder seams and widened the body to give the pullover an open, relaxed hang. It sits off the torso entirely and reaches down past the hip line.
- Army green yarn. The deep olive shade takes on a soft, matte finish across the flat-knit stitches. We use smooth blended yarns that stay soft against bare skin without prickling at the neck or wrists.
- Laundering and care. Wash by hand in cool water or select a gentle machine cycle with mild soap. Press the excess water out with a towel and lay the sweater flat to dry so the body keeps its shape.
Living with this one
Do
- Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
- Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
- Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
- Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.
Skip
- Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
- The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
- Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
- Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
