What we would tell you in the studio
- High neck construction. The ribbed turtleneck has enough body to stay upright or roll down once. It sits close enough to block cold drafts without gripping the throat tightly.
- Roomy straight cut. We dropped the shoulders and opened up the chest so the body hangs straight. The medium-gauge yarn carries enough weight to drape smoothly down to the hem.
- Sleeve and cuff. The sleeves run long with ribbed cuffs that keep the extra fabric gathered at the wrist. You can push them up your forearms, and the ribbing holds.
- Washing and care. Hand wash in cold water with a gentle detergent, or run a cold gentle machine cycle. Reshape the body and dry flat on a towel to protect the knit.

Do
- Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
- Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
- Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
- Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.
Skip
- Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
- The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
- Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
- Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
