What we would tell you in the studio

  • High foldover neck. The collar stands tall around the throat without clinging tight. You can turn it down in a neat double fold or leave it loose to gather softly as you move.
  • Loose straight body. We cut the body wide and straight from under the arm down to the hem. It falls clear of the torso, giving you ample room to layer a thin base shirt underneath.
  • Clean white knit. The white yarn has a soft, smooth surface with a light sheen. It is knitted in a balanced gauge that blocks out drafts while remaining smooth against bare skin.
  • Gentle cycle care. Wash cold on a gentle machine cycle using mild liquid soap. Lay the piece flat on a drying towel so the wide hem and sleeves keep their shape over time.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
  • Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

Skip

  • Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
  • Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
  • Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
