What we would tell you in the studio
- High fold neck. The ribbed neck collar stands tall around the throat to block out drafty air. You can fold it over once or let it gather loosely on its own.
- Deep navy yarn. We work this piece in a solid navy blue that shows the stitch definition clearly. The surface is smooth against the skin, avoiding the prickle of raw wool.
- Wide straight hem. The hem drops past the hip line, creating a clean vertical hang that does not cling. Split side detailing lets the lower edge move naturally over trousers or skirts.
- Cold wash care. Hand washing in cold water protects the gauge and keeps the cuffs firm. If you use a machine, select the gentle cycle and lay the knit flat to dry.

Do
- Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
- Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
- Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
- Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

- Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
- The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
- Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
