Lounge Sets Womens Two 2 Piece Matching

We knit this two-piece set as a matching pair so the yarn and tension stay uniform from top to bottom. The sweater cut is loose and hangs away from the body with a round crew neckline and dropped sleeves. Wide trousers finish the lower half with an elastic waistband.

What we would tell you in the studio

  • Crew neck with buttons. A round ribbed neckline sits close at the collar and opens with a neat row of front buttons. You can fasten it fully or unbutton the top to let an undershirt show through.
  • Dropped long sleeves. The sleeves fall from a low armhole to give the shoulders plenty of room. Ribbed cuffs gather the fabric at the wrist to keep the sleeve in place during ordinary movement.
  • Wide pull-on trousers. We knit the trousers with a straight, wide leg that drops freely from the waist. An encased elastic band holds the top steady without extra hardware or stiff seams.
  • Care and washing. Hand wash the pieces in cold water with mild soap, or run them on a gentle cycle. Lay both flat on a towel to dry so the knit retains its original shape.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
  • Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

Skip

  • Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
  • Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
  • Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
