Lounge Sets Womens Two 2 Piece Matching

We knit this two piece set in a solid red yarn with a soft, steady drape. The top has a crew neck and dropped raglan sleeves, while the trousers pull on with an elastic waist and fall straight down the leg. Both pieces hang away from the body without pulling.

What we would tell you in the studio

  • Crew neck and buttons. The top opens with a plain round neckline and small decorative buttons down the front. Side slits at the lower hem give the top extra room to clear the waistband of the trousers.
  • Dropped raglan sleeves. We gave the sweater long sleeves cut on a raglan line, removing the shoulder seam. The sleeve falls loosely over the arm and gathers into a soft knit band at the wrist.
  • Wide leg trousers. The trousers sit high on the waist with a broad elastic band that stays flat. They are knitted wide through the leg, falling straight to create a loose line from hip to hem.
  • Care for the red yarn. Hand wash cold or run a gentle machine cycle using mild detergent. Lay both pieces flat on a drying rack so the weight of wet red yarn does not stretch out the waistband or sweater hem.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
  • Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

Skip

  • Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
  • Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
  • Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
