What we would tell you in the studio

  • Top construction. The crewneck pullover features dropped raglan armholes, side hem slits, and button detailing along the shoulder. The cut stays roomy through the body and lands around the hip without gripping.
  • Trouser shape. We knit the pants with a high pull-on rise and a wide, straight leg that drapes straight to the floor. An elasticated waistband keeps the waist flat and secure through hours of sitting.
  • Yarn and gauge. The knit is smooth and flexible, giving both pieces enough weight to hang cleanly without clinging. The black horizontal stripes are knitted directly into the fabric rather than printed on top.
  • Washing and care. Hand wash in cold water or run on a gentle cycle with a mild detergent. Press the water out gently with a towel and lay both pieces flat to dry so the knit retains its shape.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
  • Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

Skip

  • Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
  • Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
  • Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
