Lounge Sets Womens Two 2 Piece Matching

We knit this two-piece set from the same yarn lot so the top and trousers match in tone and weight. The pullover has a loose crewneck, dropped sleeves, and side vents at the lower hem. Below, the trousers pull on with an elastic waist and fall straight through the leg.

What we would tell you in the studio

  • Top with side slits. The pullover hangs away from the body and finishes with deep side vents at the hip. A button detail sits along the neckline, and the dropped armholes keep the shoulder line soft and roomy.
  • Pull-on knit trousers. We gave the trousers an elasticated high waistband that sits flat without drawstrings or zippers. The legs are cut wide and straight, falling loose from the hip down to the hem.
  • Heathered knit gauge. The Blackdot Grey colourway mixes dark flecks through a mid-grey base. It is a medium-weight knit with natural stretch that recovers its shape after hours of sitting.
  • Washing and drying. Hand wash in cold water or run on a gentle cycle inside a mesh laundry bag. Lay both pieces flat on a towel to dry so the sleeves and trouser legs do not stretch out on a line.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
  • Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

Skip

  • Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
  • Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
  • Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
