Lounge Sets Womens Two 2 Piece Matching

We knit this two-piece set from a soft, relaxed yarn in a warm dark apricot tone. The top is cut loose with dropped raglan sleeves, a rounded crewneck, and side slits at the hem. Matching knit trousers feature an elastic waistband and a wide-leg cut that falls straight from the hip. Both pieces come from the same dye lot.

What we would tell you in the studio

  • Crewneck and raglan top. The top has a wide crew neckline and dropped raglan sleeves that give the shoulders a soft line. Side slits at the lower edge let the hem hang clear of the hips rather than clinging.
  • Wide-leg knit trousers. We knit the trousers with a wide leg and an elastic waistband that pulls on without hardware. The fabric drops straight down from the waist, keeping its relaxed shape without gathering tightly at the ankle.
  • Dye and yarn hand. Knitting both garments together ensures an exact shade match across the dark apricot set. The yarn feels smooth against bare skin, holds gentle crosswise stretch, and keeps a clean drape through repeated wear.
  • Laundering and care. Wash this set in cold water on a gentle machine cycle or by hand with mild detergent. Reshape both pieces and lay them flat on a towel to dry, which protects the knit from stretching out.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
  • Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

Skip

  • Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
  • Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
  • Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
