Lounge Sets Womens Two 2 Piece Matching

We knit this two piece set from matching navy yarn so the top and trousers share the exact same weight and dye lot. The sweater is cut loose with raglan sleeves and side slits at the hem. The matching trousers pull on with an elastic waistband and fall straight through the leg.

What we would tell you in the studio

  • Crew neck and raglan sleeve. The sweater top has a simple ribbed crew neckline that sits flat against the collarbone. Dropped raglan sleeves leave generous room through the shoulder and upper arm, tapering lightly at the wrist.
  • Slotted hem and loose cut. Side slits at the sweater hem keep the lower edge from pulling tight across the hips. The body sits wide and hangs away from the torso, landing around the upper thigh.
  • Wide leg pull on trousers. The trousers are knitted with a wide elastic waistband that sits high on the waist. The legs fall straight to a clean hem without tapering at the ankles.
  • Washing and flat drying. Hand wash in cold water or run on a gentle machine cycle with mild soap. Press the water out gently between clean towels and lay both pieces flat to dry so the knit keeps its shape.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
  • Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

Skip

  • Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
  • Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
  • Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
