Lounge Sets Womens Two 2 Piece Matching

We knit this two piece set from a soft, relaxed yarn in a warm apricot stripe. The pullover sits loose through the body with dropped raglan sleeves and side slits at the hip, paired with wide leg pants on an elastic waist. Both pieces are knitted from the same dye lot so the stripe matches across the full set.

What we would tell you in the studio

  • Crew neck pullover. The top has a round crew neckline and dropped raglan sleeves that fall into ribbed cuffs. Side slits at the lower hem give the knit room to drape over the waistband without bunching.
  • Wide leg knit pants. We knit the matching bottoms with a wide leg cut and an elastic waistband that pulls on flat. The knit hangs straight down from the waist, matching the relaxed gauge of the striped top.
  • Stripes apricot yarn. The stripe pattern alternates across the apricot knit background. Knitting both pieces together ensures the tone and yarn weight stay consistent from the collar down to the trouser hem.
  • Cold water washing. Wash this set by hand or on a gentle machine cycle using cold water and mild soap. Lay both pieces flat on a dry towel to dry so the knit retains its shape.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
  • Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

Skip

  • Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
  • Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
  • Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
