What we would tell you in the studio

  • Crewneck and pocket. A flat ribbed band binds the round neckline so it sits close without pulling. We set a small patch pocket on the chest, matching the horizontal stripe pattern across the front panel.
  • Roomy straight cut. The body is cut straight and loose, falling away from the torso down toward the lower hemline. That extra ease keeps the knit light against the skin and leaves space for a base tee underneath.
  • Striped cotton yarn. We chose a cotton yarn spun for a smooth, dry hand that holds its shape through regular wear. The color block stripes are knitted directly into the fabric rather than printed on top.
  • Washing and drying. Hand wash in cold water or use a dry clean service to preserve the depth of the apricot and brown tones. Squeeze out excess moisture in a towel and dry flat on a rack.

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.

  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
